Poem_StayZeroSTAY ON ZERO — is a tribute to the old wisdom preached about in each generation nonetheless overlooked and misunderstood by many of us. Contrary to the fallacy grilled to our minds by the consistent marketing ploy of “You Are Not Enough” in our world today, NOTHING actually means EVERYTHING. The nothingness of the pot is what makes it useful; not its outside fancy decoration nor the material that makes it.

If you are living by tendency while alive, you will also live by tendency after death, moving into the standard transition and back again. You repeat that cycle again and again and again without any insight, essentially repeating the same life over and over again and the same basic destiny determined by your tendencies–becoming associated with the same kinds of qualities, the same kinds of people, the same kind of drama, the same kind of script with your intimates, the same kinds of interests in the pleasures of the world, everything basically the same, experiencing a certain level of agony that comes naturally when you are trapped in a fixed condition, but never experiencing that agony or dilemma to the point of a crisis in consciousness that breaks out of the pattern.

Spiritual life is not (in and of itself) about being able to experience many different levels of possibility–either in this world or beyond it. It is about Realizing the right position in the midst of experience, so that you can pass beyond the fixed impositions of experience which are determined by the focus of attention in certain functional levels. You can pass through the Spiritual process in this world without necessarily having any dramatic psychic experiences of other planes. You may (perhaps) have occasional glimpses of other planes, but the import of Spiritual life is not how many psychic visions you can experience.   1. Great piece and that’s me on the lowest plane, never experiencing any dramatic physic experiences, visions or indeed any trauma of any kind. So, does that mean it’s my first time or I’m trapped in a state of perpetual nirvana, I wonder. Happy Christmas and I hope you have a wonderful 2018 😀😀😀

    1. It is said that humans have addiction to money, sex and food. Staying in zero means not being attached to any of the three. Unfortunately, I am still attached to food and cannot live without it. I penned the poem to remind myself that I can love with all the love but not to get attached. It is kind of difficult to do. But if we try to remember that all are gifts from God then we learn to enjoy both people and things without desiring to possess the same. Love is sufficient unto love according to Gibran.

      2. It is my nick. Friends and fam call me that way. My full name I use only in legal documents coz it is long and I don’t like to write too many characters haha. Once a guy asked me if that name is real. I said oh well I don’t need to use an alias coz I have not, as far as I know, got any woman pregnant and so I need not hide haha

Sometimes I try to avoid them coz I don’t like hurting them unintentionally with my crazy 😄. Oh well. I have friends who are Scorpio. They are fun. They can trade sarcasm with sarcasm. And yes, I agree mischief is an indispensable spice of life.       7. Oh no I was just using Scorpio as an example. I don’t know why but it’s the first sign that came to my mind. 😂😂 No ma’am. Never an angel. Not even on a good day😋. A fallen angel, that I might be. For my wrath is pretty angelic.😂😂 Also, my mom and my family don’t have to put up with me much for I’m mostly busy in something or another. When they do have to put up with me, it’s something worth watching.😂😂

      22. I am the same. See, someone told me I’m talkative but I’m not especially with people whom I am not close to. You see, one cannot be quiet online — just duh, right? 😂😂😂 In person I don’t talk a lot unless required or unless I’m bantering with my sister and cousins. I like books and a homebody too and yes, I like travel and adventure. But I don’t get out where I live unless I have errands relative to work. I have friends that just grow in number coz I stay friends with peeps even if I don’t see them anymore. And I always have few friends from each company I worked for so it kinda adds up. But I always like small circle. Not a party type – I get tired pasting fake smile around people I do not know 😂😂😂

    1. Don’t Quit inspired me during many years of struggle in my 20s — it was not a matter of taste — I was, in reality, looking at the poem, on daily basis, to push myself not to give up. All people have different types of struggle and difficulty. It is our choice to act on it constructively or destructively. Desiderata, on the other hand, reminds me how to be grounded. Glad you like both.
